Glassdoor vs Indeed vs LinkedIn: Which Job Board to Use in 2026
Glassdoor, Indeed, and LinkedIn show up in the same search, but they are built for different jobs. Here is where each board is worth your time, and where the listing is just a copy of the employer page.

People search "Glassdoor vs Indeed vs LinkedIn" because all three tabs are open and none of them feels like the right one. They are not substitutes. LinkedIn is a professional profile with jobs attached. Indeed is a listing aggregator. Glassdoor is a review and salary site that also carries jobs.
If you already compared ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, and Indeed, this is the next split: when the listing you found is a review site, an aggregator, or the place a recruiter will actually look you up.
What each board is for
Board
Best use
Weak spot
LinkedIn
Professional roles, recruiter search, referrals
Hourly and local roles are thin
Indeed
Volume, local jobs, smaller employers
Recruiters rarely search candidates here
Glassdoor
Company reviews, pay ranges, interview reports
Many "jobs" are ads that send you somewhere else
LinkedIn
Use LinkedIn when the role is professional and the employer has a recruiting team. That covers most technology, finance, consulting, and corporate jobs. The listing is useful. The profile is more useful, because recruiters search people, not only applicants.
Apply from LinkedIn when the button goes to the company career site. Easy Apply is fast and crowded. A referral from someone at the company still beats either path.
Indeed
Indeed pulls postings from career sites, other boards, and employers who post there directly. You will see roles that never appear on LinkedIn, especially outside big-city professional work: healthcare, operations, skilled trades, retail, and local office jobs.
Treat duplicates as one job. The same req often shows up under two titles. Open the employer page before you spend 30 minutes on a form.
Glassdoor
Glassdoor is the place to read what employees say and what a role pays, before you decide the company is worth an application. The job tab mixes employer posts with promoted listings. Click through and check two things:
Does the apply button land on the company's own career site (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Taleo)?
Does the description name a team, a location, and the work, or is it a generic "join our talent community" page?
If it fails the second check, run it through the ghost job checker before you tailor a resume for it.
Where to spend the hour
Professional role in the US: LinkedIn for the people, the company career site for the application.
Local or high-volume search: Indeed first, then the employer site.
You are unsure about the company: Glassdoor for pay and reviews, then apply on the employer site.
You want one list of open US roles with the board named: the USA job board.
A board does not submit a tailored application. It shows you the posting. The resume that matches that posting, and the form on the employer site, are what a recruiter sees. If that form is the part you do not have time for, the job application service does that step.
Short answers
Is Glassdoor better than Indeed? For deciding whether you want the company, yes. For finding the largest set of listings, no. Indeed is the wider net.
Should I apply on all three? Apply once, on the employer site. Sending the same resume through LinkedIn Easy Apply, Indeed, and Glassdoor does not create three chances. It creates three copies.
Which board gets more interviews? The board does not. The application that matches the job description and arrives on the company portal does. Pick the board that surfaces the right employers, then leave the board to apply.
